A Family Tradition for Others to Share

The idea for Carmine’s started with a family tradition. Every Sunday the family gathered for a huge dinner featuring meatballs, sausage, an array of pastas, with plenty of wine and desserts. The ritual quickly became popular among extended family as well, and soon the table had 30-40 people around it.

From there, the idea for a restaurant blossomed, with the same concept: anyone who wanted to come was welcome. Owners and operators, Joyce and Carmine finally had a reason to open Carmine’s Italian Restaurant and it is known as "Family". Three of their children and 7 grandchildren live in Kennewick, so, they found a cozy house downtown and continued their tradition.
